The House Hunt

We spent Spring Break in California on a 'house hunting' trip. Ok, not really house hunting, more like apartment hunting but it was great none the less!

This was our view from our hotel room. Not to shabby right? Have I mentioned that I am going to live here???

Wade's employer took such good care of us. They put us up in this beautiful hotel in Dana Point, right off the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH if you're in the know!). His mentor treated us to dinner and an NHL game and then one afternoon all the ladies that Wade worked with last summer took us to lunch at this beautiful country club in Mission Viejo. I felt so good and reassured about the decision we've made to go to Mission Hospital and move to California. Everyone treated us so well and was so kind and seemed so thrilled that Wade was coming back. Not that it's any big surprise, but all these ladies that Wade worked with last summer in the administrative office LOVE him. They laugh at all his jokes, thinks he's so cute, etc. etc. No wonder he loved it so much!

We spent much of our time checking out possible condos and apartments. We saw everything from the truly magnificent to the truly disgusting! We looked from San Clemente up to Rancho Santa Margarita. We kind of, well I kind of, decided that our favorite spot was Laguna Niguel. It's a beautiful spot, a little older part of Orange Country and just lovely in every way! It would be a great commute for Wade, lots of rolling hills for us to get in the best shape ever and a short mile or two to the beach. We haven't yet committed to a place, but feel good about a few options.

While we were there we were lucky enough to meet up with some great friends from SLC who just happened to be there at the same time. It was so great to catch up and share laughs and good conversation. This is Heather and I in front of a Newport sunset!

We spent a little bit of time strolling through San Clemente one day while in between appointments, I couldn't help but chuckle and take a picture of this bench because it's really so perfect. Every shop should have one of these!

We were sad to leave the beautiful weather and palm trees behind! Now if we can just get someone to buy this condo in St. Louis....!

I LOOOOOOVE that husbands bench!!! It made me laugh! Whenever we go shopping Kyle is always looking for the closest place to sit down... not the shopping type.

I am excited you will be in CA... Where you might be living is SOOO close to where we go to the beach every summer... Capistrano!! We will have to meet up or have you and Wade to the beach house for dinner or something!! We will be there the week of July 12th... will you be moved in by then?

Hope you are doing good!!
