The
temperatures have started to cool off just a little bit and it feels delightful. But as we all know, it's always a little sad to say good bye to summer, so we've been trying to eek in as much summer as we can before it comes to an inevitable end.
We went to the Tall Ships Festival at the Dana Point Harbor last weekend. They had brought in these huge, old ships that you could tour and I guess with huge, old ships, come pirates... I am assuming these guys just think it's fun to dress up and come out for the day and get thier picture taken, I am quite sure they weren't being paid. I am also quite sure that they really had rum in those mugs.
A few days later we went and met Wade and his buddies after an evening surf session for a beach picnic. It was Tessa's first introduction to the beach and as you can see, she seemed to like it. It would have been hard to be unhappy that night. It was a beautiful summer evening, bright stars, salty sea air, great friends and great conversation. These are the nights that make it hard to bid summer farewell.

What a great life! I'm so excited that all the years of working and waiting brought you to this fun stage you are in. It sounds like you are really enjoying your beautiful new daughter and fun husband. I'm so happy for your guys!
Love the pirates. I just got finished reading your 100 things, so much fun to read. I want to keep adding to mine. And yes...we do just so happen to live in an AMAZING place. Glad we met each other!
The beach pictures really do make me jealous. But more importantly I hope you and Tess are more prepared with your pirate costumes next year.
