Fall Getaway

A week or so ago, Tess and I went up to McCall to spend a long weekend with Grams, Gramps, Aunt Linny and her friend Andy. I was excited to see some fall leaves, the finished cabin, and for Tessa to meet her Aunt Harrie.

Fortunately my paranoia about the pressure on the plane bothering Tessa was totally unfounded.

My dad kept telling me I was dressing her like it was -20 degress outside, but it was chilly! I was hoping to not become a fair weather wussy whilst living in Southern California, but I fear I might be. The tempertures felt great actually, very fallish...cool, crisp and refreshing. (And I think she was quite awed over the big pines)

The weekend was full of fun activities...like a bath in the vegetable sink

Walks in the woods with Grandpa. It appears she takes after her parents, she loved being outside.

A trip to the gardens. Tess obviously didn't enjoy it's loveliness like the rest of us, but she did enjoy her afternoon nap.

And an day of watching conference with Grandpa and/or playing with Aunt Harrie. She was never without someone to hold or play with her, that's for sure!

The water was ridiculously smooth. Almost made me cry. But it was cold, much to cold, plus the dock and the boat were already out of the water...next summer I suppose.

I hadn't realized how much I missed the fall. We don't get changing leaves and cool, crisp temps here. The colors were so beautiful. The coolest were the Tamarack trees, which I didn't get a photo of, but they are these big beautiful pine trees that change color, from dark green to almost lime green before turning bright yellow, they were spectacular.

Alas, the time came to go home. Bummer deal. We kissed everyone goodbye, then hopped on the itty, bitty plane. Just Tessie's size. I'd never been on a plane this small, but it was fun and the ride out was beautiful!

It was a lovely weekend. We missed dad and wished he could have been with us, we left him behind working hard. It made me excited for Christmas and for all the years to come, for the memories Tess will make there growing up with her cousins and family. What a great spot.

Looks like a fun trip! you won't be missing the seasons come the middle of January, especially here. Don't be surprised if I show up on your door in sunny CA. Babe is getting so big. Does she sleep all the time? Got to love that! She is so cute. Who is she looking like?

Katelyn! She is so cute! I love that I am not the only one who bundles their baby beyond what is probably needed. Your weekend looked fabulous, what a fun time.

Yikes, that is an itty bitty plane! Glad you had fun. And I think we should change the name of the vegetable sink to "the bath sink" since I think that has been it's main use so far!
