Happy Easter!

What a perfect Easter weekend. An Easter egg hunt and breakfast, an afternoon hike, a lovely day at church, a visit from the Easter bunny and a dinner with great friends made for a great few days.

Tessa Jane found the eggs to be an interesting and tasty treat.

Saturday afternoon we went and checked out a new hiking trail. We discovered great views and a potentially good spot to train for upcoming summer climbs. It was Tessa's first time in her backpack, she did great and eventually all the walking, done by other people, tuckered her right out.

The Easter bunny paid a little visit too. Her favorite surprise? The 99 cents toy from Target that lights up. Of course. Mom's favorite? The Baby Lulu outfits found at Costco for $18.00!!! Tess looked cute as a button in her dress, we rounded out the day with good friends over dinner.

My heart and mind always drift back to Jerusalem this time of year. That magical city where my Savior walked and taught and where I had the opportunity to do the same. I found myself wishing to be sitting in front of the Garden tomb today or walking Tessa through Gethsemane. Maybe someday, until then, I'll tell her all about. About how you can feel gratitude and happiness for Jesus Christ's extraordinary gift just as well in Southern California as you can sitting on the steps of the Old City, or how his love extends from the shores of Galilee to the shores of the Pacific, or how his forgiveness is given as freely in Capernaum as it is in Laguna Niguel. What a gift. To be able to make mistakes, to be forgiven for them, and to apply them to our life experience and character. And all the while encircled in an understanding and compassion that resembles anything but criticism and judgement. Easter is welcome every year.

I cannot stop being thrilled by our reconnection. I spent hours the other day reading every post you have every written. I had to know everything. Your family is everything I would have ever wished for you. I miss you so much. I feel as if we could just pick up right where we left off. My husband is from LA so the next time we make it out to sunny So.Cal. we must get together. I will definitely be keeping in touch and following your blog. Love you, camille

Anyway... what kind of kid-carrier backpack do you guys have? (I was admiring it in your hiking pics). I have been looking around a little and I like what I could see of yours. Hope you guys are well!!

She is darling! How neat that you were in Jerusalem in the past especially at this time of year!

I love the leg crossing post--so cute!

I just did a post "in trent's words" which I totally stole the idea from you :). I think it is so cute when you put the posts in Tessa's words. (hope you don't mind :).)
