Call me crazy, or reach through the computer and punch me in the face if you live in St. Louis and are weeks away from frozen buckets of rain, because I am about to complain (ever so slightly) about the 74 degrees and sunshine. Complain is a bad word, it's more like, you always want what you can't/don't have. Come September here, I am DYING for some red and yellow leaves and crisp afternoons. And Honeycrisp apples. I have made Pumpkin chocolate chip muffins like 8 times trying to get myself in the 'mood'.
It wasn't working like I had hoped. So to remedy the problem-o we headed to Big Bear last weekend. A mountain destination about 2 hours away. It was to have cool temps, colored leaves, cabins, a lake and general mountainous feel. It did. Loved it.
We went with the Murray's and had a great time.
And of course Tessa and Luke took a bath together, because that's what you do if there's potential for a wedding video someday.
Nice little Tessa.
At the park. We played with some kids that had just come from a Halloween Party. Dressed as Mexicans. Seriously, that's what they said. April, I think you should dress up as a white person for Halloween.
Left alone with the dads for but a moment...
and loving it!
This backpack was one of the best baby gifts we received. Tessa has loved it from day one and so have we.
Just the albeit late, kick start I needed. I am now in the mood :)

What a fun little getaway! It is nice to see the leaves changing after all. Fall is the best!
her little cheeser in the bike trailer is killing me! so glad you're exposing your little cali girl to some autumn!
HA!!! I can think of a couple of people that could dress up as white girls for Halloween . . . and for some of them that would be scary. LOL whoo what a funny thought.... April as a white girl. :)
Love it. It looks like such a great trip. So pretty too. I am loving the pic of the two lil kiddos in the bath. We miss you guys and hope all is well. xo
I know exactly how you feel. Especially when it gets to Christmas time and there is no snow or even a chill in the air. It just doesn't feel like Christmas at all. Glad you got a taste of Autumn. Man, that picture in the bike trailer is SO sweet!
Puh-leese! GIrl i am so WHITE already that my dad says I am a coconut!!!!
I dont know if i should be offended they want to dress like "mexicans"??? Were they sterotypical vatos? with the flannel shirt only buttoned with one on top and the dickies or were they the laborers? Cause i have to tell you for being an "authentic" mexican I dont know anyone who dress like that in my family!!!
sometimes Boston tries to talk with an "orle way" accent. Dont know where he got, when i asked him what he was doing he said talking like a mexican. Ha!
Of course i asked him if any of the mexicans he knew talked like that. He said no

I am thinking Luke is moving in on Henry's spot. I guess she can have another BF as long and she is still plans on marrying Henry!! Looks like a fun trip.
I've lived in CA so I know how you feel. - And don't listen to April, it's not freezing here.
It's all about the Honeycrisps!
Little Miss Tessa has the most adorable smile!! And yes, I must agree, she and Lilly were meant to be BFF's. Christmas time might be a lovely time for them to meet!
