Thanksgivin'

I am having a heck of a time getting my groove back after Thanksgiving weekend. It was entirely too relaxing and laid back. Tessa was bored out of her mind with Aunt Harrie and Grams and Grandpa fussing and loving and laughing at her all day long. We ate bad food, several times and did no kicking off to the holiday season. It was a terrible weekend.

My dad and I ran the Dana Point Turkey Trot Thanksgiving morning. The weather couldn't have been better. The company however... (wink, wink)

After a good nap, and a glorious walk we went to dinner at The Montage. That my friends is a great way to do Thanksgiving dinner, out. I have yet to cook Thanksgiving dinner in my young life. Wade asked me that afternoon, "Do you ever have a desire to cook Thanksgiving dinner?" My answer, "Not particularly."

Why spend the rest of my 3rd Thursday's in November feeling inadequate when I could have a cornucopia made of bread?

and my kid could have a chocolate fountain. With Aunt Harrie. They even replaced our champagne with Sparkling Cider. I'm telling you, it was bad.

The company was excellent too. Tessa liked the stuffing and sweet potatoes and REALLY liked the pint size buffet filled with grilled cheese, chicken fingers, jello and pb & j. AND we sat next to a celebrity.

A Thanksgiving milestone? T learned how to walk on her tippy toes, and did it ALL weekend long. Cute, dang cute.

We went to a little Christmas play. A jovial, silly, musical delight. And we went to Roger's Gardens. Everyone with in shouting distance should go to Roger's this season. Their Christmas display was outstanding.

Tessa hated Santa.

She nearly kinked her back trying to lean away from him. It shouldn't be funny, yet I find myself chuckling. It won't last forever, right?

Tessa: Hmmm, a shoe ornament! I love it!
Mom: Note to self, put non-fragile, non-sentimental ornaments at the bottom

I recommend never having a weekend like this. Unless you are fit to handle the despair that follows when it's over.

I will handle the despair. Let us do it again!

it sounds terrible, terrible, terrible. i'm so glad it's over and you can just put it behind you. I say live it up while you have one little one and can enjoy dinner at montage-like establishments!

Sounds about as miserable as mine was! Seriously, how relaxing and wonderful. The tip toes, darling. And no, the Santa thing will wear off, but it may take a while.

Could T be any cuter. It makes my heart hurt I want to eat her maybe. Is that gross!!! I miss you KB so much. Tell the fam that I love and miss them too and maybe yell really loud at Pops so he can feel what it is like to have me around for a second. Also, I didn't comment yet but I want to say that "Wade you are a total Bad ASS! I am amazed by your determination you are an inspiration. I cried when I read the post about your Iron Man. Now Paul wants to do one. So thanks a whole lot for that (I hope you can hear my sarcasm there). But seriously, way to go."

Listen. I am fine with admitting my blogging skills are shot. It is a little embarrassing, but I try not to think about it.

Also, your Thanksgiving sounds like my kind of Thanksgiving. Really. And I can't tell you how my heart soared when I saw Tess walking on her tip toes. Heaven help me.
