Well, I'm happy to report I got my boot off. Not that I minded it too much, me and my boot, we had some good times together. I started to figure it was just part of my little body. I got around on it like a little champ, swinging it out to the side a bit like a little peg leg. My mom and dad were impressed with how quick I was, I even got to jumping! My grandpa made a good observation, kids my age, we haven't learned how to make excuses or complain. We just adapt because we think we have no other choice, while you adults would moan and groan about how hard or inconvenient it is, I just work it out. I know, I know, to be a kid.
I couldn't back float in the pool, much to my dismay, so I just "back floated" wherever I got the chance, this day it was on the front step.
And don't think for one minute that boot was going to keep me from crossing my legs, I'm a lady, cast or no cast.
And lastly, while we had a pretty rough start, me and the sponge bath got to be good friends toward the end. I always did my knees and my tummy by myself.
On Tuesday the time came for me to free my leggy of the boot. I screamed me some bloody murder when the nurse pulled out that cast saw. It was "scawy", even mom said so. But after it was off, I couldn't believe my eyes, like I said, I had begun to think the boot just belonged, nearly forgotten there was a leg under there. I just looked down and said, "Leg. Leg."
Then mom put my other sandal on, she told me, "Look buggy, we can put your other shoe on!" So I took a look, thought for a second and said, "No boot. Two Sandals."
The next day, mom took me swimming. As you can see, I could barely wait to get out of the house, I had been asking for weeks, boy did I have a good time.
I'm a little timid and tipsy on my new leggy, but I'm getting along. I'll figure it out, just like I figured my boot out. Mom and Dad say I'm a tough cookie, I think so too.

Yay for no more boot!!!!
Very insightful of grampa. It's amazing how much we can learn from our little kiddos. Sweet little miss sure got along fine with her little boot and it didn't even occur to her to complain. I wish I could say I was the same! I love her little crossed legs in the stroller. And it's sweet how much she obviously loves her two sandals. Have fun at the pool little Tessa!
