Last weekend Wade ran the St. George marathon. Or should I say blitzed the St. George marathon. He did so great. Ran under his goal, set a personal best and made me so proud. And jealous. I do long for the days when my ponytail will swing behind my head again. Soon enough. We had lots of friends running the race this year, and it was fun to be a part of a big group of supporters and runners.
Dad's number one fan. My favorites from this race:
1. Hi Dad!! Go racer dad! Go daddy!!
2. Go racers! I LOVE YOU GUYS!
3. Hey mom, there's a pink one! There's a green one! (Racer's that is. Based on their shirt choice.)
I love the race. Everything it is and everything is represents. I love the sweat, the heavy breathing. The resigned, tired thank you's and nods from those running to those cheering. What a clap or a 'keep it up' can do for weary legs and a discouraged soul. The limping and the pain from racers, pushing through limps and pain. Yes, they are RACERS. And to be a racer is a beautiful thing. Personal goals. Goals achieved. Goals set to do better the next time. Runners teaming up with other runners to get each other through a rough patch. I love the supporters and cheerleaders. Humans cheering and encouraging other humans that they have never seen or ever known because they are doing something difficult and could use a push and lift. The race brings out the best of the human spirit. I love to cheer and I love to participate and I love that my daughter is two and has been to about 20. She knows what a race is, what her role is there, that it's a good, and exciting thing. Something to be celebrated. Everyday should be race.
Wade trained so hard for this marathon. And his efforts were rewarded justly. He just keeps getting faster and faster. Setting new records for himself and in case anyone needs reminding...new records for the Hunt family as well. Nice job Buster.

Great job Wade. I really don't get loving to run but I can admire people who do. I loved going to Adam's triathlons though. It is fun to cheer people on when they are doing something extraordinary.
buster, you're tops!
Oh man I am so jealous of this.. and am jealous when you run them too... I've never run a marathon but it is on my list of things to do before I kick the bucket. I hope I can get myself into good enough shape to do it one day! way to go Wade! And I love your little pregnant belly Kate! :)
Congrats Wade! That is amazing! You guys are inspiring. Little Tessa is a lucky lady to have such great parents to look up to and cheer for. Katelyn, you look so stinkin' cute.
