...you know, since I was born. Since I graced the earth with my arrival. The world isn't such a bad place, it has sunshine, a mommy that is in love with me, a daddy that adores me and a big sister that REALLY loves to kiss me. I came home from the hospital on Monday, mom loves the hospital, she says it's relaxing and people there do everything for her, but then it turned out that Gram was here and she did everything for mom too, so mom's been ok. As for me, well, people take care of me no matter where I am. Here are a few facts that we have all learned about myself in the past week:

-I do not, repeat, do not like to be swaddled. I was scrunched for way to long inside my mom's belly, let a boy stretch out!
-I seem to find some comfort in the binki, just for a little bit after I eat sometimes.
-I also do not like to be "exposed". Apparently I am private.
-I keep my eyes open for a few hours a day, just looking around, checking things out. Mom has a hard time taking a nap when my eyes are open, she likes to have us look at eachother instead.
-I have a set of lungs and will use them from time to time.
-I am very patient with my very attentitive older sister. She has gotten mad at me just twice, enough to ensure mom doesn't trust her as far as she can throw her, but for the most part, she loves me, kisses me and pats me to death.
-She also never calls me Bode. I am either Bode Banks Hunt, the baby or baby brother.
(Here she is trying to talk all of us into letting her take a nap in the laundry)
-Sometimes I make very serious, concerned faces.
-I have great coloring, good skin, and have lost a little weight. 11 oz. to be exact, but the Doc thinks I am good and healthy.
-I am pretty mellow and content. I was having a bit of a witching hour between 9PM-12AM (Dad's shift...) there for awhile but Dr. Carruth told mom to feed me once more and it seems to keep me happier and satisfied. I am doing pretty good at night, usually letting mom go 3 1/2 hours.
-I am a good little eater and have taken to breast feeding really well.
-People are really surprised when they hear how big I was, but if you were to see me or hold me, you'd think I was just a tiny little newborn baby like all the rest.
-I am unbelievably cute, but you can see that for yourself.
-I went outside with mom for the first time a bit yesterday, I was relaxed and liked it, but could not open my eyes, it was too bright for these little babies (which we think will be blue...)
-Gram was so sad when she had to leave me yesterday, you would be too, trust me. I was sad to see her go too, she took really good care of us.
-I don't particularly like to be burped. I prefer the cradle in the arms position to the alseep on the shoulder position if I'm awake. If I'm asleep, I am a great little cuddler in that shoulder position.
-I am fitting my way into my family just perfectly. Mom is trying her best to make sure Tessa and I are both getting the attention we both need and deserve and sometimes it's hard for her. But I am being really patient as she figures it out. I feel like I belong here, like I'm meant to be.
-I like my bouncer, even if it's pink. Sometimes I sleep better in it than my bassinet.
-I can chillax with the best of them.
-Had my first bath, can't say that was a huge hit. Maybe had something to do with my whole "exposed" issue.
-I am already growing to fast, time is already going to quickly. These are things I hear my parents say anyway...

He is so very handsome. He doesn't look like an almost 10 pounder to me! Those are such beautiful pictures and a very sweet sum up of your first week with your little guy. Pleased to meet you little Bode.

That was a very good--informative post, for those of us that can't be there in person to enjoy the first few weeks. So impressed you had time/energy/motivation to even type all of that. Great job!
Such a cute little boy! Can't wait to see the pics from Sierra! Heard he was a DREAM! :)
Oh geez.. he's a cutie... So glad you are getting some good stretches of sleep! Congrats again! lOVE YA!
Congratulations! it's so fun to hear about the first week. It goes by so quickly and you dont want to forget those sweet things like the eyes closed outdoors or the pee stream every diaper change. What a cutie.
Glad things are going smoothly. I am sure Tessa will whip him right into shape if he steps out of line. Congrats again.
P.S. What a fabulous middle name!
i love him, love him, love him.
Welcome to boys! Just be happy if the pee doesn't end up shooting you right in mouth. (yes, it has happened to me more than once) :)
