Since we were in UT the week prior to the wedding we decided to stay through the weekend and spend Easter with our families. That was all well and grand. It was more the week leading up to it that was a bit of an adventure. Or disaster. It consisted of:
-an RSV diagnosis the day before departure
-a barfing incident right before we got in the car
-a 3 day fever over 102 degrees
-72 hours without Tessa eating ANYTHING
-72 hours of Tessa drinking maybe 8 ounces of liquid
-96 hours with 6 hours of sleep
-a baby’s breathing resembling that of a washing machine
-a visit to Primary Children’s ER
-a visit to my parents neighbor and childhood pediatrician
-3 phone calls to said neighbor and pediatrician
-a mother being totally out of her head
-a missed trip to the zoo
-missed time with cousins
-dad flying in a day early
-3 visits to the pharmacy
-being barfed on at 2 AM in bed
-being totally useless for coming in 4 days early to help with wedding prep
-4 ear infections (2 on each head)
It was so awesome. The kids almost didn’t make it to the wedding. It was THIS close.
There were some redeeming features.
-a sister that made the 12 hour drive with me and surely aided in my survival
-grandparents aiding and assisting left and right
-eventual sleep
-kids being troopers despite feeling like death
-an 80th birthday party for Grandpa
-a turning of the tables by weeks end, just in time to leave
-Easter egg hunts
-a bridal shower (Zero photo’s, as I said, I was out of my head. Where was Annika when we needed her!??)
-finally a little cousin time
-a visit from the Easter Bunny
Can’t wait to do that again. Good thing there was a wedding in there to brighten things up!

Oh my goodness Katelyn, that almost had me in tears! I am so sorry your trip was such a bust but I'm glad the kids pulled out of it at the end.
Oh dear me. That sounds just plain awful. I'm glad you were at least around family for all the awfulness, even though they were surely busy getting ready for the big day! Poor kiddos. When are you guys going to catch a break!
oh my goodness. i am so sorry. nothing is worse than little ones sick. so helpless. you must have been out of your mind.
I do believe I've called upon Dr. Roberts at least once for one of my children while visiting the motherland, bless his soul!
LOVE Dr. Roberts! Seriously, why does that crap always happen right before or during vacation?! Honestly, so, so sorry! And trust me, you know I would have been all over the photog if I wasn't up to my elbows in bleach and haircuts! Sad I missed it.
