We have high hopes for our children.
Tessa participated in her first “running” race a few weekends ago, a local scout troops’ fundraiser. She ran the 1 mile fun run. I say participate and the term run loosely. Her competitive spirit was a bit lacking (side tracked by the ducklings in the stream to her right, the pink tank top passing her on her left etc. etc.) but she had a great time and was pretty proud of herself. And as her parents, there are few things we enjoy more than watching her feel proud of herself.
Yes, her dad bought her cotton candy as a race prize at 9AM and yes, she ‘soaked’ her sore muscles later in her ‘hot tub’.
Bode dons his helmet almost daily, we never quite know what he’s competing in, or what he plans to hit his head against. But we encourage it just the same.
The both of them tested out the Strider race course at the Tour of California not to long ago. Both his kids on a bike at the same time, giving it their best go = a dream come true for Wade.
If they don’t end up racing, or competing, we’ll be proud they know how to cheer on those that do. (After we get done crying).
Or that they know how to eat cow bells and collect race swag. 1 guess as to how that sticker got on his back…
Big George Hincapie. Wade was in boy crush heaven.

her tiny body with a big race number is just so darling, I can't handle it. and bodes in his helmet is really too much. they'll be more than cheerleaders, sister. it's in their blood.
I am dying over her soaking
