In no particular order…
We went to Stake Conference at the Ritz. Bummer brunch wasn’t included.
We made Halloween cookies for FHE. And built the Tower of Babel.
Caught the crazies playing house in the kitchen one afternoon.
Bubs colored on the hotel floor. Awesome.
Bubba. Just being kissable one morning in Safa Park. Once it cooled off we’d drop T off at school and spend our mornings here.
Putting our fall leaves to use that we smuggled back from Ukraine. T and I were always looking for fun things to do during Bubs nap time.
We spent a couple nights at Global Village when Wade was traveling. Every year in Dubai from November to March, people come from all over the world to sell their wares at Global Village, a huge bazaar of sorts. We shopped for paintings in Iraq and bought a bicycle and nail polish in China. That bike lasted less than 24 hours. No wonder it was only 20 dirhams.
Bode brings a car, truck or jeep to all meals and everywhere else for that matter. I remember when T’s little buddy Luke used to double fist Matchbox cars everywhere he went. I thought it was so cute then and now that it’s my own doing it, it’s even more endearing.
Who wouldn’t want to pick up that sass-a-frass from school? Annnd I won’t be broken hearted if she has to get glasses someday.
Bode makes friends everywhere he goes. This day, it was at the Dubai Zoo.
Turkey Bowl. What a place to play touch football, am I right?!
One of my better captures. Brave boy on the big boy slide.
The Burj Al-Arab against the setting Eastern sun. We tried to cram in the last few beach days. I miss those pleasant evenings on the sea shore.
A spontaneous bike rental in Al Barsha park one night.
Lighting up Dubai in the We Run Dubai 10K. It’s hard for me to put into words how badly I needed to do this before I left Dubai and took on a new adventure. It was one of the few times since leaving the States that I felt like the me I knew best. Those of you that know me well will perhaps understand that. I felt whole. Doing it at night and with Wade made it all the more special. We didn’t set any personal records, that’s for dang sure. Well, except for crossing the finish line together. Not fighting.
Just watching morning cartoons. In Arabic. On a pool floatie.
Tessa found a treasure at the beach one night. And tried to bury her brother. He held still for about 1 1/2 minutes.
A bittersweet day when these babies came through.
Play dates with Noah. Look at these two cute boys!
Iconic Dubai. Ancient Bedouin culture, meets burgeoning new economy and industry.
Man, what a great few months.

Wow. These pictures are all so great. I can't decide what is more beautiful. The Burj Al-Arab at sunset or Tess in those glasses.
P.S. Your Christmas card was my favorite of all. I totally stole the Mark Twain quote and put it on my blog. Thank you. I need all the inspiration I can get right now. :)
Here's to adventure.
