As all of know, but few of us fail to actually recognize is that Thanksgiving is strictly an American holiday. Which means the rest of the world is business as usual and has little idea or care that all of America is running a turkey trot and then heading to a large dinner table. We planned on a day of business as usual with a dinner after work with some friends, but to our good fortune, Wade happened to be in Dubai on Thanksgiving day and took much of the day off. So, we headed to Tessa’s favorite spot, Atlantis.
We swam, and played and slid the day away. Having ourselves a grand time before heading to the Clason’s for dinner.
And while it is indeed an American holiday, we were lucky enough to share it not only with other Americans, but also Canadians, Sri Lankan’s and Phillipino’s. It was a wonderful night out on the patio with great friends, interesting conversation, a Mormon mini-bar and all the traditional fixin’s. Our family had much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving holiday. Health, happiness, friendships, employment, an opportunity abroad, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Each year, the list gets longer. What a rich, full life we all have if we choose to see it.
