100 Days of School

Tessa was commissioned to create a wearable masterpiece of sorts using 100 items in honor of the 100th day of school. Then everyone would get to march in a parade to show off their creations. After me trying hard for 30 minutes to sell her on a rainbow made of pom poms, she decided on pink jewels. Drats. It was a fun project to do together and she was excited for the fun day at school.

The parade was cute and a confirmation that here in the Middle East, I am still outdone. Though not in a creative, Pinterest kind of way. More of a wrap your kid in 100 balloons or tie them to your kids back kind of way. Seriously. Can you imagine being the teacher seeing that walk in, 'Shahad, you look great, this won't be distracting AT ALL. Now where shall we have you sit?'

Tessa's class made headbands, trees and got to fill snack bags with 100 snacks. 10 of 10 different kind. The kids eat this stuff up and it's fun to watch.

Note: Cute boy in the front covered in bugs is Talal. He has been referred to more than once as 'The cutest boy in class'. I have to agree, tall, dark and handsome. She knows how to pick him. The dude with all the Benjamin's around his neck, or should I say, 'Abdullahs' is Aziz. He's a prince. So, naturally.
