Big Time

A few weeks ago we were sitting at breakfast when Wade got a phone call from one of the Doctors he worked with in Jubail. He hung up and said, "He says I am in the newspaper!" We went and tracked down a few papers, turns out he was in 3 Saudi national papers. They were all in Arabic, so after a few phone calls we learned the headline read, "Finally! An American Expert in Jizan!" We laughed ourselves silly on that one. The story went on to explain Wade's background briefly and the project he is working on there in Jizan. Apparently, Wade is interviewed frequently when he travels in regards to his project and his presence, he is often times in places where there are very few other Westerners, making him quite the anomaly. But THIS time, it went all the way to press. This was one of those times I found myself shaking my head and thinking, "Wade's name and photo are in a national Saudi Arabian newspaper, what in the world? Is this seriously our life?" I couldn't be prouder of my American expert.
