Tutz and dad flew half way across the world to be a part of Whittman’s entering the world. Their presence here was an extraordinary blessing given the unexpected circumstances surrounding Whitt’s birth. Having them here and knowing they were taking care of Tessa and Bode and all that needed to be taken care of at home, while Wade and I grappled with the desperate situation surrounding our newborn son brought a feeling of relief that I don’t know I could express adequately in words. The kids loved having them around and so did I. My only regret is that they came so far and saw so little. They didn’t get to see near what I would have loved to show them in this adopted city of mine. They were gracious and said they didn’t care, but I hope they’ll come back someday so I can do Dubai right by them.
They were able to hit a few essential Dubai hotspots like Satwa and Ski Dubai.
For the glory that Satwa ribbon is, she didn’t buy near enough.
It makes me smile that my dad still takes my kids skiing no matter where we are in the world. We couldn’t make it McCall this year, but Ski Dubai? Sign us up!
Two of my four favorite boys and 3 generations of family that knows when and how to fight the good fight.
We managed an evening in the Marina and another on Jumeriah Beach, but for some reason the camels were not out! My parents came all the way to Arabia and didn’t even ride a camel! Like I said, they need to come back.
And Tutz and I even squeezed in a selfie at Global Village. We were wasted.
I was sad to see them go. The sting was eased though knowing Marian would follow a short time later bringing tall tales from the African bush and a helping hand when Wade left to Nigeria.
Family. The man upstairs knew what he was doing when he orchestrated that divine design.
