Graduate

The Bodester graduated from Wonder Years Nursery School last week. Which means next year he will attend the same 'big' school as his sister and will wear a uniform, 5 days a week. He's three. I roll my eyes at the oft times mediocre US public education system until I remember Bode is three. And will attend school 5 days a week in a uniform. And all of the sudden I want to sign my kid up for mediocrity. I can barely stand it. Pffff. On to graduation.

He wore his boots. He's wears them EVERYWHERE these days. And it tickles my heart, so I let him. Never mind that it's 109 degrees outside and rain is about a million miles away. But they do make for a bit of clumsiness walking up the stairs. Especially when they're on the wrong feet.

His hat fell off about 487 times. And I giggled about 487 times.

His teacher Ms Christine from Denmark. A saint amoung saints. (Can this not be said about all preschool teachers?) She has been both patient and honest in regards to this middle child of mine. To summarize...his stubborn streak is alive and well, he doesn't not like to be told what to do (I don't have the slightest idea where he got that from), prefers outdoors to indoors, plays nice with others, is loud, and has already mastered the age old male trait of selective listening. Academics do not seem to be amounst his interests in life. We're hoping it's because he's three. And if it's not, that his wit and good looks will carry him a long way in life. And he told Ms Christine to leave him alone last week. I-yi-yi.

He loves school. He loves his buddies and has since day one, given me a smooch, walked in and never looked back. He can not be bothered with homesickness or anxiety. He also can't be bothered to poo anywhere but in his pants.

I love this child. His antics and imagination make me giggle every single day. It's going to be a good ride with this one.
