1. I didn't fully appreciate how good my maiden name was until it was bumped to the middle. I love using it as my middle name now though and always sign my name Katelyn Banks Hunt.
2. I feel sad for those that have not had the opportunity to meet my husband Wade. Surely the meeting would have been memorable, he is pretty fantastic.
3. I work at an upsale children's boutique in St. Louis.
4. I have a bachelor's degree in Political Science with an International Relations emphasis.
5. It took me moving to the Middle East to realize that is what I wanted to study. When in Israel or Palestine (depending on where your alliances lie)...I witnessed first hand the political and religious turmoil that unfolded daily. Few things in this life have fascinated me more.
6. It took me moving to Washington DC to realize that I didn't have the cahonies, or maybe the motivation to work for the CIA.
7. I have run 3 marathons and about a dozen 1/2 marathons. The 1/2 marathon is a much friendlier distance.
8. Lately, I have been into Pilates, it's a little easier on the joints...
9. I get dressed in the exact same order everymorning...socks, underwear on the botton, underwear on the top, pants, shirt, shoes.
10. My patience level, or lack thereof has been brought to my attention by a few people.
11. I have not drunk a carbonated beverage in over 10 years.
12. I feel bad for people that need a Diet Coke or coffee to make it through the day.
13. I don't have a lot of sympathy for people who consistently complain that they are fat.
14. If it's going to be cold, it might as well snow. There is nothing fun about it just being plain cold.
15. I spent the better part of my teenage summers hiking the 6 Cathedral Peaks in Grand Teton National Park with my dad. The time was invalueable and has become a part of my identity.
16. I learned things about myself in those mountains that I would not have learned in any other capacity, such as: our abilities will always rise to the task if we are willing to put in the time the task requires, we are capable of much harder things than we think we are, to enter a situation that requires preparation unprepared is foolish and potentially harmful and pain really is only temporary.
17. My mom sends me a package for every holiday filled with treats and decor, I LOVE this.
18. I have a chocolate Labrador Retriever named Chloe. I love her. Really, really love her. She is much more desirable to be around that a lot of humans I have met.
19. I am a true believer that once you enter the world of designer denim, you will never go back. Tread cautiously.
20. It pains me that some people are the denied the rights to lives greatest joys, marriage and family.
21. I have 2 sisters. They are the best. But we have some significant differences. Example: if we were all in the same room and someone else said something that upset us...Amberly would start crying, I would get up and walk out of the room and Lindsay would give them a piece of her mind.
22. Amberly can be a bit narotic. But I love this about her. I also love her uncanny intuition, her patience and her unwavering support.
23. Lindsay, she can be pretty bossy. But I love her for her courage to pursue her interests, her drive to fight for the underprivileged and for her exquisite sense of style.
24. Then there's my brother Boogs, or Ben. He's no chip off anyone's block, but this is what I love most about him. I've never met anyone so comfortable in their own skin. I love that we have the same sense of sarcasm, I love his diligence and I love him in Wranglers.
25. I have been a blond the better part of my life, I tried brunette for a couple months last year. I don't think it suited me.
26. I cannot sleep on my stomach, it hurts my neck and back
27. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My membership and testimony is at the core of who I am.
28. If you lined up three black coats in front of me that were similiar in cut, style and fabrics, I would pick out the one I liked best without ever looking at the price tag and it be the most expensive.
29. A long run on a crisp fall day, leaves crunching under my feet, makes me feel very alive.
30. I design and create baby onesies and accessories. I would really like to get them into some stores.
31. My nickname is Wooser.
32. I call Wade, Buster.
33. I haven't eaten much beef or pork in the last decade either. I don't think it's good for you and the taste does nothing for me. I do enjoy tri-tip from The Store, but it's been marinated for like a month and therefore does not taste like beef.
34. I would really like to visit Africa and participate in some Humanitarian work there. I think it is a country and people that seem to have been forgotton by the rest of the world.
35. I get grumpy when I'm hungry.
36. I have an out of control sweet tooth.
37. I think gun control in this country needs an overhaul...like get rid of them.
38. I took piano lessons for about 8 years growing up. I quit because it was detrimental to my mother's and mine relationship.
39. I also took dance, tumbling, cello, and played softball..for a game.
40. I was a cheerleader in Highschool and I loved every minute of it.
41. I do not have favorite foods, colors, etc. Why limit yourself?
42. I do love sushi though, wow, do I love good sushi.
43. I do not support the occupation in Iraq. I support our armed forces and the extraordinarily hard things they are doing and think they should get the funding they need, but I do not support the reason we went there, or the fact that we are still there.
44. I was in NYC the morning of 9/11. I hopped on the train at about 7:30AM that morning to return to Washington DC.
45. I am baffled that Osama bin Laden has not yet been found.
46. Since I got out of the Young Women's Program about 8 years ago, I have served as YW's camp director and YW's President twice.
47. I hope when I have kids I can have at least one girl and one boy.
48. I feel blessed that I have parents that taught me by principle, as well as precept.
49. I love to travel.
50. Italy, Africa, and Thailand are on my long list of places I want to visit.
51. I have been Heli-Skiing. It is every bit as exhiliarating and awesome as it sounds.
52. The thought of my kids maybe growing up in a place where we can't ski every weekend makes me a little sad.
53. I wish I was as friendly and outgoing as my husband.
54. My dad could work on his spontanaeity, however, I continue to strive for his same level of diligence and patience. He's always made it clear what's most important to him, and I know I am amoung that. He has taught me that other people can't define my limits, it is up to me to stretch past those preconcieved limits and grow outside of them. And, he's handsome.
55. In the winter, I only shave my legs about once a week.
56. When I get home from work, I usually change right into my 'comfies'. Poor Wade, it is sooo not sexy.
57. I feel more attractive when I have a little suntan.
58. I feel grateful to have married into a family that has made me feel 'one of their own' from the moment I met them. I love them.
59. There will always be a warm spot in my heart for London and the way it transformed my family. I added a thick layer of compassion to my charcter throughout that experience.
60. A warm spot will also remain for Hobbs, Noa, Noa, and charming shops on charming High Streets. A warm, poor, wishful spot.
61. I have a goal to qualify for the Boston Marathon in the next 5 years.
62. The idea of doing an Ironman Triathlon is intriging to me.
63. Waterskiing at 7:00 AM in the morning, freezing you patutsies off, cutting across water smooth as glass...that makes me feel alive too.
64. I enjoy decorating.
65. I look at People Magazine's Star Tracks, everytime I'm in line at the grocery store.
66. I love the book, Catcher in the Rye.
67. Clowns freak me out.
68. I have a problem with a few four letter words.
69. I have become famaliar with the state of America's inner cities while living in St. Louis. The reality is grim and hard. I would like to see more Federal and State money alloted to our inner cities.
70. Children, regardless of color or socio-economic status have the right to a decent, safe education, those politicians who fail to provide it for them, truly are failing.
71. I believe that immersing ones self in education is the essential element to rising above less-desirable circumstances.
72. I like to entertain.
73. I want my kids to call Grandma, Tutsie, Tutz, is not sold on this.
74. My mom, should really r-e-l-a-x about some things but I love her like crazy! She is way, way hilarious, she has much more strength and courage than she gives her self credit for, and she has taught me that the details that we allow ourselves to get worked up over, are merely just that, details. Ca sera sera. Focus your energy on the things that you can change.
76. I don't particularly like to be told what to do.
77. I am not a fan of anything in the "more than 4 legs" category.
78. I am not one of those people that will allow my children to have pet mice because it encourages individuality and responsiblity. Go feed the dog and pick out your own socks, wear 2 different colors for all I care.
79. I think Al Gore is on to something...I recycle about 80% of my waste and think we need to take much better care of our oceans.
80. I went to the World Series game when the Cardinals beat Detroit for the championship, that was the greatest sporting event of my life!
82. I love Christmas time. The decorations, the music, the parties, the magic in the air.
83. I think animals are much smarter and much more perceptive that we give them credit for.
84. I am not very good at admitting I'm wrong.
84. I do not particularly enjoy mountain biking, nor am I very good at it. Touchy with the brakes = unhappy camper.
85. I like my showers really hot.
86. I do not have a great work ethic.
87. When we moved to St. Louis, we bought our first place on Dartmouth Avenue. I love that it feels like home.
89. If I'm into a good book, I will stay up until 2 or 3 in the morning reading.
90. I have 3 nephew and 2 nieces. It makes me crazy that I can't seem them more. Especially the little ones!
91. I believe credit cards are risky business.
92. Sometimes I wish I would have lived a little more "dangerously" in high school. I've always been scared of getting caught.
93. My favorite magazines are Runner's World, Real Simple, Cottage Living, Cooking Light and Women's Fitness.
94. If I had disposable income, I would dispose of it on a weekly massage.
95. My favorite cereal is Toasted Oat Squares, I rarely eat them in a bowl with milk though, it's usually by the handful.
96. I believe one person can make a difference.
97. I like to see women in positions of power, having a positive influence.
98. I enjoy the changing of each season.
99. I know I can adapt to whatever climate I am in, whether it be dry heat, 90% humidity, snow, damp, wet cold. But it has been my experience that the adaptation period can be fairly unpleasant.
100. Mosquito's seem to have a love affair with me.
