Last year, Wade and I were in a Christmas tree conundrum. To go fake, or to not. We are true fans of the real tree. The smell, the experience of going and picking one out, the nostalgia they seem to exude. But we were new to St. Louis, weren't sure were the 'best' tree lots were and more importantly would be going home for about 2 weeks during the Christmas holiday i.e. fire hazard.
So, we started discussing 'fake'. This was painful for me. We came to the conclusion that if we were going fake, we were going fake! Hence the little white plastic number you see below. We picked it up at Target and while it is meant to be put out in the yard, I quite like how it turned out in the house. It's funky and whimsical and suits us just fine. Who knows? Maybe little white plastic will become a time honored Hunt Christmas tradition!
PS-I realize that it appears to tilt a bit to the right, do not fear, your vision is not failing you, it does tilt. But come on, what's Christmas without a tree that tilts?!

It's perfect. Definitely whimsical and festive still the same. I'm a fan of the plastic.
I like it too!! I am glad that you didn't choose a scary fake fuzzy green thing!!
I am a TRUE fan of the real tree though. I love them SO much that I didn't care that we would be leaving for the holidays. And re: the fire hazard thing... I thought to myself "If I leave the lights off... is it anymore of a fire hazard than our wood dinner table?"
So we still get a real one every year... I reccomend finding a place that you can cut it down yourself. SO MUCH MORE FUN!! We decided that we want to do it every year!
Hope you holidays are going fantasticaly (sp? or is that even a word? oh well)
Love, Hillary
Cute tree Wooz,
Brave move to go from real to fake, but you did it in style.
