We love America so much we started the celebration early! On Thursday night we went up with some friends to a camp ground and carried on the timeless American tradition of roasting hot dogs (well some of us roasted turkey dogs...) and making smores!
That evening our friends came down from LA and we went down to Laguna for a great dinner and fireworks. We discovered a fantastic new restaurant, had great seafood while looking over the very ocean from whence it came.
Afterwards we walked down to the coast, laid out a blanket and watched two things...
1. America at it's best. Luau tuxedo as we dubbed him...basically an abhorrence to the American culture. Some poor guy who had enjoyed way to many Budweisers and found himself running and dancing and tipping into the surf only to get rocked over and over again. Pants falling down, face slamming into sand... We were dying and had to pull ourselves away to watch the fireworks.

2. The lovely explosions in the sky. I don't know where this tradition started, but I love it. We were in a good spot and were able to see the firework show from both Laguna and Newport. It was beautiful with the fireworks reflecting off the water.

nice post sister. way to make us all jealous that we don't live next to the ocean. it sounds so lovely!
I agree with Amberly that was a good post! I enjoyed hearing about your fun times and seeing all of the pictures. I'm glad you guys are doing so well there. You can adapt to anything.
Freak, how did you already meet friends? It takes me forever. You are still looking good, and I can't wait until little H comes out. She is going to be a doll. I too am proud to live in this country.
So fun to read about you! I love that I can recognize the LB cliff line in your picture - I love LB. I think I've told you this. It is so beautiful there.
