The day after Christmas we drove down to San Diego to spend a few days. We were hesitant to go further than that due to my "condition" and thought it would be a fun last getaway as the Three Muskateers. There was a slight damper as we pulled into Sea World and our car started beeping at us, ordering us to STOP and turn off the engine. You may recall this same thing happened last month when we were in PHX for Thanksgiving, and if you care to know it's happened about 5 other times this year. Sooo, after a rental car, two days and $800 later we were on our way again. Surely someday we will look back and laugh. The great thing about kids is they are clueless, Tessa loved our red toon size rental car. And yes, we are finally just going to bite the bullet and get a new car.
Anywho, like I said, it was simply a damper and we still managed to have a great time. We've loved having Sea World passes this year, we've managed to see something new each time and were glad to get to use them one last time. T is a big fan of Shamu.
The next day we headed to the San Diego Zoo. I hadn't been to the Zoo for probably 15 years and Wade had never been. I think we enjoyed it more than Tessa, it is awesome and HUGE. My favorite was definitely the Panda's, they were sooo cute!
Or the Gorilla's...I could have been entertained for hours watching this guy.
This is a gazelle, someday Wade and I aim to run like them.
It was a fun post-holiday trip, it's always a treat to get to spend 3 full, uninteruppted days with dad. We have been a good team the three of us these past 2 1/2 years, I would choose to spend my time with these two over and over again, over anybody else. We returned home the 28th, took down Christmas and readied ourselves for Grandma and Granddaddy Hunt to come spend the New Year with us. They spoiled us all more than sufficiently and headed home the 2nd leaving us to gear up for the new year. Ring in 2011!
