I get most of my best ideas from Diana. She shared with me back in October the idea of a “Grateful Tree”. I adopted the idea and the Hunt Family Grateful Tree was planted on the dining room mirror. It has grown and grown throughout the month.
Every night at the dinner table each member of the family writes something down they are grateful for to add to our tree. Bode has only pitched in a few. He’s having a hard time coming up with things he’s grateful for. It has been an effective way to share the meaning of the month and the Thanksgiving Holiday with Tessa. And I welcome the opportunity every November to count my blessings.
A few of my favorites thus far:
TESSA: dance class, cousins, myself, Heavenly Father, princesses, snacks, Jesus, breakfast lunch and dinner
DAD: playing in the rain with Tessa Jane, employment, the energy to get done all that I need to get done, the blessings of the Gospel and the church, my best friend and wife, time spent with Bode Banks
MOM: friends that feel like family, healthy kids, a supportive husband, a body that allows me to run and take care of my family, money in the bank, the covenants of baptism
