Tessa had a preschool field trip last week at Seaworld. After a fairly rough weekend of illness, we decided to go ahead and brave the hacks and fevers and head to San Diego. There has been a fish on our calendar and Miss Shirley’s calendar for weeks marking March 5, and to miss it might have equaled total devastation. Wade was back and forth the several days prior as to whether he was going to take the day off and join us. He came home Friday and said, I’m taking Monday off, I told “bossman” that in 20 years I wouldn’t say to myself, “Gosh, I’m glad I didn’t go to Seaworld with my daughter on her fieldtrip and worked a long day instead.” I smiled and told him he was awesome.
We all felt a bit under the weather, but enjoyed the day. The weather was token So Cal, we enjoyed the fresh air, each other and the marine life.
Polar bears remain the among the cutest of all animals, I have a hard time imagining them to cruel or vicious in any way. Killer whales remain among the most intimidating. Did you know they swallow their prey whole. Imagine you’re a fish just swimming a long, la, la, la and whomp, you’re in an orca’s belly. Game over. Octupus (didn’t get a photo) remain among the most disgusting. Have you ever seen a real octopus? They seriously are so gross, slimy, mucussy, bulging grossness. Tessa kept asking if it was Ursula’s cousin.
Tessa was eager to show Bode everything and to eat cotton candy. We just decided to cut our losses and go ahead and buy it at 10 AM. Bode’s pointer finger and “Whoa’s and “Oh’s” were busy all day long.
I’m glad we sucked it up and made the trip.
It was clearly a great day.

Oh that looks like so much fun. And such nice weather too. Glad you had a good day in spite of feeling less than stellar. Your kids keep getting cuter and you look fabulous as well.
I love the picture with Tessa's arm around Bode. Wade definitely gets wonderful husband points for taking the day off to be with the fam.
wade's taking the day off was awesome. I need to go to sea world again, it's been far too long.
