And so it continues…
My poor Tessa awoke last Thursday with an alarming rash covering her entire body and face that nearly gave me a heart attack when she walked down the stairs. After a trip to the doctors (complete with gasping nurses and questions as to whether she had received her MMR shot) we discovered that her rash was due to severe allergic reaction to the anti-biotic (Augmentin) that she had been on due to the near rupturing ear infection the week prior. Apparently, such allergies can fester for 4 or 5 days before they present themselves, all the while their unknowing parents are continuing to force the poisonous medicine down their throats. I am convinced now that her vomiting incident last week was due to the allergy and not the flu. The poor kid was miserable, her doctor explained that her little body was in a full on revolt and it would be a few days before she was feeling like her normal self again. We got her on some anti-histamines and within a few days she was looking and feeling much better. There photo’s are day one and two when it was the worst. She will have a life long allergy to all forms of penicillin, an inconvenience, but not the end of the world. I feel like I may have to get her one of those little bracelets to wear though incase she ever needs to be medicated and I’m not around. Surely this is the end of our winter of discontent.

Oh!! Sweet miss Tess ! I'm so sorry you were so miserable. That is a VERY impressive rash my dear. Hope you are back to your fashionable , sassy self soon.
Oh My! My heart just hurts for her! How awful!
Oh poor little miss Tessa! That looks so sad. We had a similar incident last year when Tate was on amoxicillin. It's the worst, realizing that you could have kept them from getting sick if you had just known they'd be allergic to the drugs you were giving them! So sad. I hope she's better soon. You guys have had more than you share and have certainly earned a year or two sickness-free!
Noooo. That is awful. Poor little thing, and poor you. So sorry!
OMG! That poor little girl!
ok, come on, her little fanny alone should be reason enough to at least try oils before using meds! glad that is over!
Henry had the exact same thing happen with Ammox. when he was about 2, I totally freaked! Hope she's feeilng better!
It looks miserable, but seriously, she has a cute butt!!!
