I have been jotting a daily grateful down in my ipad each evening. Here are days 1-10:
-The health of my children and family. I can think of no greater burden or stress than a debilitating, long term or fatal illness or injury.
-A husband who works hard to provide and preside. Who loves his children and wife and seeks to provide them the best life and experience that he can.
-The energy and patience I can usually drum up to get through the day. Some times that's all I am, is a body of a little patience and a little energy, some days I am more. I seek to be more, more often. But for the days when I am tired, I'm grateful I still have the capacity to do it.
-The improvement in Tessa's transition. She is happier and less stressed. As a result so am I. I have not pleaded with my Heavenly Father so desperately in quite sometime. I am grateful for answered prayers on her behalf.
-Inspired modern day prophet and apostles. I have taken to reading a conference talk before bed each might and am consistently finding a piece or tidbit that seems written expressly for me. A gentle reminder, a coaxing in a different direction, a reassurance.
-To be an American. To have an opinion and a voice and the opportunity to fight for what I believe to be right.
-That my husband is gainfully employed and that we sufficient for our needs. I am aware that many in these trying times struggle to employment and the security it provides. I am very grateful.
-Good friendships. I recently exchanged some political and spiritual emails with a few friends. I walked away from my iPad feeling SO grateful, so uplifted, inspired and hopeful. I have wonderful friends who I can laugh with and learn from. The very best kind.
-For fun days together as a family. We had a pretty low key day today at the aquarium, I am grateful we enjoy all being together.
-New found friends in the Middle East. I have been welcomed like I was here all along and feel myself like I've known many of them for far longer than 2 months. They have made this experience all the more enjoyable.
