New Best Friends

Last weekend, the Terry’s, who were instrumental in us coming to the Middle East, came to Dubai. They currently live in Riyadh, where we too will eventually end up. Scott and Wade had meetings here in Dubai in Thursday so the rest of the family tagged along for a fun filled weekend. I was so happy to meet them in real life! I had talked to and emailed Sophie back and forth several times in our preparation to move and was and remain so grateful for her help and candor. She was even cooler and cuter in person. I hope she’s ok with the fact that she is going to be my new best friend!

Hank is just 6 months younger than Bode and Olivia about 15 months younger than Tessa. It was so fun to have a playmate for the kids, Tessa in particular after a hard week. We started off the fun Thursday night at Kidzania at Dubai Mall. It’s like a small kid city, complete with a grocery store, beauty salon, fire station, gas station etc.
We also hit the beach, good food and Aquaventure at Atlantis.

Tessa can’t help herself when it comes to the pose. And look at poor Bode’s sweaty nap. It was a hot, hot day. It was also a fun family day, we had a really good time with the kids.

It was also a cultural experience. Lots of burqini’s. And a few mankini’s.

The sunset’s on this side of the world are a welcome sight, the sight of new friendships even more so.
